Carlos Mendoza (born March 18th, 1997) is a director/screenwriter from Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay His career began when he directed his first short film "No Tienes Escape" in high school which was a participant and winner of the categories Best Student Short Film and Best Short Film by Public Vote at the Festival Audiovisual de la Sociedad Cultural. This short film opened the doors to the world of cinema and was what determined his passion for Audiovisual production. Lately he studied architecture at the UCA, a period in which he also continued to train in the Audiovisual field by taking several courses, seminars and workshops for the development of audiovisual materials. He has been part of the Creators Network of the Itaú Foundation and Amamos Cine where he made the short film "Sapukai" based on the folklore traditions of Paraguay. In 2023 the short film "El Prado" which he wrote and directed earned him an award for best original screenplay .
